The much-anticipated Legoland Discovery Center Beijing officially opened on Wednesday, and serving as its promotional ambassador was the popular Bruneian singer and actor Wu Chun.

Since appearing in the hit TV variety show "Where Are We Going, Dad?," Wu Chun's "Super Daddy" image has touched people's hearts and made a deep impression. His good relationship with his own children has inspired many parents. Legoland chose him as ambassador because he encourages children to explore, and his educational philosophy of growing through play is in line with the core concept of the venue.

As a Legoland representative describes, Wu also believes in the "family first" principle, prioritizing time with his children, and taking time out of his busy work schedule to attend to them wholeheartedly. Wu advocates intimate interaction with children to fully engage them in play, and through patience and care to become a child's best friend.

The star appeared at the opening ceremony of Legoland Discovery Center Beijing, cut the ribbons and even brought along a dragon dance team to perform, with himself as drummer. Later in the event, Lego's junior master model builders worked with Wu Jianyu, the venue's Master Model Builder, to present him with a gift of a traditional Beijing roast duck totally made of Lego blocks.

Wu expressed happy surprise at the gift, but also stressed that Legoland Discovery Center is always professional and careful, and never to make food-like items with Lego bricks in case small children could swallow them. During a follow-up tour, Wu also placed his family's Lego miniature figures on a set in the Lego center.

Merlin Entertainments Group will open this new Legoland indoor family attraction to the public on April 15. It will comprise 13 zones, including a 4D cinema, LEGOMINILAND models, recreational facilities and a host of other attractions. The Beijing facility will become the 21st in the world and the first Legoland in northern China. The new attraction is located in Longhu Changying Shopping Mall in Chaoyang District.
